Boo Cottage Botanicals: Terms & Conditions
We promise to ship our best-quality products to you in a safe, secure and reliable manner and to deal promptly with any concern you may have regarding your order.
These conditions shall apply to all sales transactions between Boo Cottage Botanicals and any person, firm or company (“the Purchaser”) placing an order with Boo Cottage Botanicals for the manufacture and/or supply of any goods (“the Goods”). Boo Cottage Botanicals by accepting any order for Goods from the Purchaser agrees to sell and the Purchaser agrees to purchase such Goods at the price stated on Boo Cottage Botanical’s website and on the sole basis of the terms and conditions of Boo Cottage Botanicals stated herein.
1. Purchasing Goods
When purchasing goods on this Website you warrant that the personal information which you are required to provide if you register as a customer or at the checkout is true, accurate and current in all respects. If your personal information changes then please notify us immediately by contacting us on 07510 990257 or email [email protected] You agree not to impersonate any other person, business or entity or to use a false name or a name that you are not authorised to use.
You place your order request for goods from the Website by clicking on the confirm order button at the end of the on-line order process. You will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of simple instructions on the Website.
Once you have placed your order, we will send to you an acknowledgement providing you with an order identification payment reference and the value of your order which has been debited to your bank account, credit/debit card.
2. Workshop Bookings
Full payment for workshops is required at the time of booking to secure your place. You can pay online or in person at an event or our workshop (Unit 1F, Hillview Industrial Estate, TA4 3EW.) As long as there are places left, workshop bookings can be made up to 24 hours in advance of the workshop commencing. Please attend on time to all workshops. If you are more that 15-20 minutes late it may not be possible for you to participate in the workshop as the tutor would have to go over the same material again which is unfair to the other workshop participants.
3. Soapy Subscription Boxes
To set up a ‘Soapy Subscription Box’ you will be redirected to PayPal where you will need to enter your details and set up a recurring payment. It is your responsibility to check all your details are correct at this time and notify us if there are any errors or changes you need to make.
Irrespective of when you set up your subscription, we will endeavour to dispatch boxes on the 1st of the month. If the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or bank holiday, boxes will be dispatched the following working day. If you set up your subscription payment on or after the 1st of the month you will receive the following month's box. For example, if you set up your subscription on 15th June, you will receive your first box as the July box; sent out on the 1st July.
Please inform us of a change of address. Subscription boxes sent to the wrong address may not be recoverable.
4. Returns and cancellations
Unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled your order in accordance with the Order Cancellation section below, our acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place when we have dispatched the goods ordered by you.
We may not accept your order if an item you have ordered is out of stock, we are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment or if we identify a product or pricing error. We reserve the right to reject any offer to purchase by you at any time.
If we are unable to fulfil your order following our order acknowledgement, we will contact you by email or telephone advising you of this.
a. Order Cancellation
If you change your mind about your order, please contact us by emailing [email protected] or on 07510 990257 within seven working days of receipt. If your goods have already been dispatched, we will ask you to safely return the goods at your expense and we will then make a refund to you. Our refund may be reduced should the goods be returned part-used, incomplete or damaged.
b. Workshop Cancellations By You
We try our best to price our workshops as fairly as possible and offer good value for money. We therefore have to have a clear cancellation policy to ensure that we cover our costs and the ongoing viability of the workshop.
We urge you to carefully check your diary to ensure that you are available to attend any workshops you are booking with us.
We do appreciate that sometimes-unforeseen circumstances may mean that you can’t attend, if this is the case, please contact us by emailing [email protected] or on 07510 990257 as soon as possible. You may incur a charge to cover our admin and course materials costs. In our experience it can be difficult to fill places on workshops at short notice.
If you give more than 14 days notice to cancel a place on a workshop your options are as follows:
- We will be happy to transfer you to another workshop, space permitting.
- If there are no suitable future dates for you to transfer to we can provide a voucher to be used for a future workshop booking.
- You can of course send someone in your place at any time, but please note that this is your responsibility to find a replacement person and you must let us know in advance who will be attending.
- You can request a refund which will be subject to a reduction of 20% of the workshop fee. Please note, refunds may take up to 14 days to process.
If you give less than 14 days notice to cancel a place on a workshop then your options are as follows:
- You can send someone in your place, but please note that this is your responsibility to find a replacement person and you must let us know in advance who will be attending.
- You can request a refund which will be subject to a reduction of 50% of the workshop fee. Please note, refunds may take up to 14 days to process.
c. Workshop Cancellations By Us
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a workshop you will be given at least 24 hours notice and offered a transfer to another date, voucher to be used at another time or in our store, or a full refund. Please note, refunds may take up to 14 days to process. We will not be held liable for any other costs or expenses that you may incur in the event of cancellation by us.
d. Cancelling your Soapy Subscription Box
If you would like to cancel or temporarily pause your subscription please contact us by Telephone 07510 990257, or Email [email protected] or by using our online ‘Contact Us’ form.
Please allow at least 48hrs before your payment is due to be taken from your account in order for us to cancel your subscription for that month. Last minute cancellations may mean you are still charged and will still receive that month's subscription box.
e. Returns Policy
Boo Cottage Botanicals’ returns policy is governed by the Consumer Contracts Regulations that came into force on 13 June 2014:
This states that customers have 14 days after the day on which the goods come into the physical possession of the consumer or the person that he/she asks you to deliver the goods to cancel their order.
We can only accept returns on unopened and unused products, accessories and gift boxes. Goods that arrive with us in an unsalable condition may be subject to a reduction in the refund value. The original postage costs will be refunded when returning an item, but not the returns postage. If an express delivery service or similar was originally used to send the goods, then this will not be refunded – the normal shipping rate will apply.
Returns will be processed by us within 5 working days of receiving the returned items. The refund will then be processed by WorldPay in accordance with their refund policies. Please note refunds may take up to 14 days to process.

5. Complaints and Customer Service

Complaints are taken very seriously by Boo Cottage Botanicals and will be dealt with within 5 working days. Please note that the Purchaser is also welcome to contact Boo Cottage Botanicals on any issue relating to their order on the contact telephone, or email listed above.
6. Account Details and Customer Privacy
It is not necessary to register with Boo Cottage Botanicals in order to use this Website.
If you do register, by using the Website, you agree to keep your password and account details confidential, and to take all reasonable measures to prevent unauthorised access to your account. You are responsible for all actions that occur in relation to your account. If you forget your password we will reset it upon your request and send it to the email address you registered with.
Boo Cottage Botanicals collects the information provided by the Purchaser at the time of ordering and uses this information lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Information is collected by Boo Cottage Botanicals to process the Purchaser’s order and also to provide the highest level of customer service possible.
Boo Cottage Botanicals does not sell or pass customer’s e-mail addresses or other details to other parties. If you order from us, we may contact you about your order and we may, on occasion, e-mail or write to you with information about our products and special offers. If you would prefer not to receive any promotional material at all from us, please let us know.
Prices for Goods include standard packaging. The price does not include the delivery of the order to the Purchaser. This is an additional cost, unless otherwise stated. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the Website as up to date as possible, the information including product descriptions appearing on this Website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order.
8. Secure Ordering and Payment
We put orders from our website through Worldpay. After making an order on our site, you will be asked to enter your credit card details. This information is then protected in transit over the Internet by SSL encryption. You may see a completed padlock or key in your browser when you are on the payment page.
Payment can be made by any major credit card and will be debited and cleared from your account before the dispatch of your goods. All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or subsequently refuses to, or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. You confirm that the credit or debit card that is being used is yours.
We will retain the legal ownership of the goods until full payment has been made by you and such payment has been received by us. Legal ownership of the goods will immediately revert to us if we refund any such payment to you.
Goods will only be dispatched once payment has been received in full.
We will make every effort to dispatch orders within 5 working days of receipt. The standard delivery prices listed on the website include a 2-7 day delivery service within the UK mainland. Express delivery prices listed on the website include a 1-3 day delivery service within the UK mainland.
Deliveries outside the UK mainland will be between 7-14 days, depending upon the destination. Deliveries outside of the UK Mainland will incur a surplus delivery cost – please email us for a quote. All international orders will be treated separately. We accept orders and ship to UK and European addresses only. The Royal Mail will attempt delivery and if the recipient is not at home a card will be left with written instructions asking them to contact their local post office to arrange collection. It is then the recipient’s responsibility to contact the Royal Mail and arrange for collection. It is the Purchasers responsibility to ensure that a recipient or representative is present to sign for the delivery. If the delivery is returned to Boo Cottage Botanicals, re-delivery will not be possible and the order will be cancelled and Purchaser refunded in full.
Boo Cottage Botanicals does not accept any liability whatsoever for delayed delivery caused by any third party. As soon as you have received the goods, you will assume all risk in the goods.

10. Product and Product Variations
Please bear in mind that our handmade range of products are made in small batches so you may encounter some variation in colour, texture, scent or wrapping between batches or orders and as they are pictured on this Website or in any other marketing materials. If you do have any problems or queries, please let us know.
We attempt to be as accurate as possible when describing products on the Website; however, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that product descriptions, on the Website are accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.
Any products and services, and any samples thereof, we may provide to you are for personal use only. You may not sell or re-sell any of the products or services, and any samples thereof, you receive from us.
We are unable to supply goods on approval nor are we able to supply free samples of our goods by post. If you’d like to try our goods, we recommend that you order an item from this website. If you are looking to purchase wholesale, we will take this initial cost off your first order.
All content available on the Website, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, data compilations, and software, and the compilation thereof (the “Content”) is the property of Boo Cottage Botanicals, and is protected by UK and international copyright laws. Nothing may be reproduced in whole or part by electronic means or in print without the prior written permission of the company.
We are not responsible for the content of any off-Website pages or any other websites linked to or from the Website.
13. Force Majeure
Boo Cottage Botanicals will exercise every reasonable effort to meet the requested dispatch date. Boo Cottage Botanicals shall not, however, be liable for any loss or damage due to delays or failure to ship resulting from any cause beyond its reasonable control, such as but not limited to compliance with laws or regulations, acts of God, acts or omissions of the Purchaser, acts of civil or military authority, judicial action, defaults of sub-contractors or suppliers, labour disputes, failure or delays in transportation, embargoes, wars or riots.
14. Jurisdiction and Contact details
Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with relevant United Kingdom law and the relevant courts of the United Kingdom will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to the Agreement.
None of the above terms affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
