Handcrafted cold processed soap with shea butter and coconut oil. Naturally exfoliating with pumice and walnut shell. Scented with a fresh blend of essential oils reminiscent of a herb garden.
Our Gardener’s Scrub soap is a ‘cold process’ soap, as are all of our soaps. Cold process is a very traditional method that people have been using to make soap for thousands of years.
Gardener’s Scrub soap contains nourishing Extra Virgin Olive Oil, rich Shea butter and cleansing Coconut oil which we combine with natural exfoliating pumice and walnut shell to create a mass of fluffy lather which cleans your skin without stripping it of its natural oils.
Scrubs and exfoliating preparations often include micro-plastics which are effective and cheap, however extremely bad for the environment as they can take thousands of years to break down. At Boo Cottage Botanicals we are 100% committed to our environment and instead, we use naturally occurring pumice powder and powdered walnut shell. Walnut shell powder is made by grinding up the by-product of the food industry that would usually be thrown away.
We have expertly selected essential oils to blend our unique Gardener’s Scrub scent which we combine in-house, using essential oils of Sweet fennel, Spearmint, Grapefruit and Bergamot to give a scent to remind you of an aromatic herb garden.
Gardener's Scrub soap is VEGAN friendly.
Minimum weight 100g bar, packaged in recyclable and compostable greaseproof paper and recycled card.
Why we have chosen some of our ingredients:
Shea Butter is rich in vitamins, plant sterols, minerals and other nourishing compounds for the skin. The butter softens, protects against drying, and nourishes. High in vitamins E and A, shea butter locks in moisture, increases elasticity and evens out skin tone.
Coconut Oil is fantastic in soap, creating a big fluffy lather due to the high content of lauric acid. This enables it to cleanse without stripping your skin of its natural oils. It is also naturally anti-microbial and anti-fungal, making it perfect in a gardener’s soap.
Walnut Shell Powder is a great example of using the full raw ingredient. The shells would usually be discarded during food production, however they can be ground down to a fine powder the perfect size to be a great exfoliator. Fabulous at removing ingrained dirt and grime.
